Knill to ring the changes

Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill believes his current squad needs overhauling and is hoping to be allowed to reshape it ahead of next season in League One. The Iron's two-year stay in the second tier ended with a 5-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Knill says there are too many defenders in his squad and he will seek to push through the changes required to make the Glanford Park outfit a force to be reckoned with next term. "I've got 17 players in contract but there is imbalance in it," said Knill. "I have five centre-halves and four right-backs and I just don't need that many. "I would hope we can make changes and myself and the board see the same picture - it's a long-term project."
