Knill not distracted by Iron link

Alan Knill says he remains focused on steering the club to promotion amid growing speculation linking him with the vacant managerial position at Scunthorpe. The Bury boss, who spent four years of his playing career with the Iron between 1993 and 1997, has emerged as the leading contender to succeed Ian Baraclough at Glanford Park. Knill is remaining coy about his future and says his overriding priority is to keep Bury on course for promotion to League One after narrow failures in the two previous seasons. "Right now I've got eight games to make it a really good season," said Knill. "We've been close for the last two, and now this year we've got a real chance."
