Knill accepts `inevitable' relegation

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill conceded defeat in his side's battle against relegation from the npower Championship after Monday's 2-1 defeat to Millwall. The Iron are six points adrift of fourth-bottom Doncaster with two games remaining, but with their goal difference inferior by 17. "I like a challenge," Knill insisted. "If I didn't, I wouldn't have left a good job at Bury to come here. "I always knew it was going to be difficult to keep Scunthorpe in the Championship. "What happened in this game shows why we are going to be relegated. We conceded two very poor goals and that has been happening all season. "When you do that at one end and don't score enough at the other, then relegation is inevitable. And that is what has happened."
