Jones could miss Scunny opener
Jones lasted just 15 minutes of Tuesday night's friendly defeat to Wolves, putting his participation in the season-opener in doubt.
The defender suffered a groin injury as the Iron lost 4-2 to the Premier League newcomers at Glanford Park, but manager Nigel Adkins
remains hopeful that he will be fit to face the Bluebirds at the weekend.
"Rob had to come off because he had a little niggle in the groin area," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"Hopefully we've taken him off early enough and he'll be fine for the weekend - he'll be assessed on Wednesday.
"We took him off as soon as possible so that he didn't aggravate anything."
