Around 40 Scunthorpe United supporters spent Sunday morning clearing snow off the Glanford Park pitch in an attempt to ensure Tuesday's League One game with Rochdale goes ahead.

Snow was removed from around two-thirds of the grassed area over a four-hour period, with club staff and volunteers due to resume on Monday morning to remove the rest.David Beeby, the club's general manager, said further volunteers would be welcome to go to Glanford Park from 9am on Monday morning to remove the remaining snow. Each volunteer will be given a voucher to exchange for a match ticket. The pitch was soft and playable, and not frozen anywhere.
