Duffy, who has been linked with a move away from Glanford Park is out of contract in the summer.
However the club do have an option to extend the deal by another year and will exercise the clause.
The former Morecambe man has been one of the stand out performers for the Iron over the past two seasons and has attracted interest from Sheffield United.
