Scunthorpe have completed the signing of free agent Akpo Sodje on a short term deal.

The former Sheffield Wednesday striker, who played at Hillsborough under Iron boss Brian Laws has penned a deal until the end of the season.

"I watched the last game on TV and they had loads of chances, so hopefully I'll start getting the chances and start scoring the goals to keep the team up", Sodje told Iron Player.

"My main aim is to keep Scunthorpe United in League One"

Sodje left Preston earlier in the season after failing to agree a new deal- having scored seven goals in 17 appearances this term.

Brian Laws was delighted to get Sodje at Glanford Park, despite interest from other clubs.

"He's fit and ready to go and prepared for a battle.

"We are delighted he has chosen Scunthorpe United"
