Iron land pair
Scunthorpe have completed a double swoop for Colchester centre-back Paul Reid and young Manchester City midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim.
Reid, 28, who was out of contract with the U's in the summer, has signed for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal while 19-year-old Ibrahim joins on a one-month loan deal.
Former England Under-19 international Reid joined Colchester in July 2008 after having his contract paid up at Barnsley and went on to make 65 appearances for the Essex club, scoring once.
Norway Under-21 international Ibrahim has featured for City's senior side three times, including against West Brom in the League Cup this season, with his debut coming against the Iron in an FA Cup fourth-round tie in January last year.
The pair go straight into the squad for Saturday's match at Leeds.
