Iron extend Slocombe deal

Goalkeeper Sam Slocombe has been rewarded for his form this season by having his contract extended until the end of next season, and is set for talks for an improved deal.

Slocombe, 23, has become the club's first-choice keeper, making 19 appearances since the end of October having spent the early part of the campaign providing backup to Josh Lillis then Sam Johnstone.He signed a one-year deal last summer, with the club confirming on Monday morning they had taken up a clause to extend it by 12 months. They also confirmed talks were planned for a new contract.
