Scunthorpe United have ended interest in trialist Bryan Hughes, but will take a further look at Jay O'Shea and Paris Cowan-Hall. Hughes, 34, is without a club after being released by Hull City in the summer. He played for the Iron's reserve team 1-1 draw with Lincoln City on Tuesday afternoon. The forward Cowan-Hall, 20, and midfielder O'Shea, 22, impressed enough in that game to be given a second look and will continue to train with the side ahead of second outings in next Tuesday's reserve team game at Leeds United. Cowan-Hall is a free agent after being released by Portsmouth in the summer, he had two loan periods at Grimsby Town last season but both were cut short by injury. O'Shea is a Birmingham City player and is on trial with a view to a loan move.
