Iron close to Spence signing
Spence, 19, was a spectator during the Iron's 3-2 win over Derby on Saturday and the formalities are expected to be completed on an initial one-month deal.
The defender, who can play either centre-half or full-back, has captained England Under-19s and spent time on loan at Leyton Orient last term.
He could be in contention for a debut for the visit of Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
