Iron begin Lincs Cup defence

Scunthorpe return from a two-day team bonding session in the Lake District to start their defence of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup on Sunday. They will head to Sincil Bank to take on Lincoln City in the tournament's semi-final.The Iron are still without midfielder Michael O'Connor, whose knee injury "flared up" last week.Captain Cliff Byrne is also missing as he recovers from surgery on a back injury.Otherwise the Iron manager Alan Knill has a fully fit squad to choose from, and Winger Garry Thompson could feature again after getting his first 30 minutes of pre-season under his belt at Gainsborough Trinity on Wednesday night.Lincoln will be without the injured players Kyle Perry, Andy Hutchinson, Francis Laurent and Tony Sinclair.The Imps will also be without trialists Bradley Barraclough, Sam Clucas and Doug Lindberg - who are ineligible to play.The game kicks-off at 3pm, but the home side are holding an open day from 10.30am.
