Iron agree Sears extension

Scunthorpe and West Ham have agreed the extension of forward Freddie Sears' loan until January 3. Sears made five appearances for the Iron during his first month with the club but the Hammers retained their 24-hour recall on the 20-year-old. "I know Freddie has not scored but in the seven games he has played for us, he has been involved in half our goals," said Iron manager Ian Barraclough. "It's not just about putting the ball in the back of the net - and I am sure that will come for him. "I know fans will look back at the chance he missed last week against Cardiff - but that is not the Freddie I see every day. "You see him in training day in, day out and he has got all the attributes to be a top goalscorer."
