Defender Iriekpen, released by Scunthorpe last week, has agreed personal terms with Accies but is currently visiting his sick mother in Nigeria.[LNB]Reid said he plans to complete the formalities of the 26-year-old's move on Friday - and hopes to have him available for Sunday's fixture.[LNB]"We've agreed terms with Izzy," he said.[LNB]"He's in Nigeria at the moment; his mother's not well.[LNB]"We're hoping he will come tomorrow and sign for us and be in the squad for Sunday."[LNB]Iriekpen was Scunthorpe captain until last month, when he asked to be placed on the transfer list.[LNB]It is believed talks over extending a contract - which was set to expire at the end of this season - broke down.[LNB]Iriekpen was was stripped of the captaincy and has not played a first-team match since mid-December.[LNB]Reid added: "He was the captain of Scunthorpe, and they wanted him to sign another contract. But I think he refused; he wanted to play at a higher level.[LNB]"They decided it would be better for him to go, and we got word of that.[LNB]"He's a player with decent pedigree, and we're delighted to get his services.[LNB]"He's played 19 times for Scunthorpe this season and scored four goals from set-pieces, so he's a threat at the other end of the park."[LNB]Iriekpen is Reid's second signing this week, following the arrival of former Gretna striker Kenny Deuchar.[LNB]Both are tall, physical players - and Reid explained: "You see teams like Hibernian and Hearts and Dundee United. They've got a lot of tall players and are big and strong.[LNB]"If you're like that, it gives yourself a basis to build on.[LNB]"That's comment on the league."[LNB][LNB]
