Unsettled Preston North End striker Paul Hayes insists he can not rule out a January move to Scunthorpe United 27-year-old Hayes left Glanford Park to sign a three-year-deal at Deepdale last summer, but fell out of favour and is currently on-loan at Championship side Barnsley. Preston boss Darren Ferguson said earlier this week, "If he comes back I've no problem with that, He's a good trainer and a good lad". However it seems likely Hayes will be trying to manoeuvre his way out of Deepdale and speaking about a possible return to Glanford Park he told BBC Radio Humberside: "You never know in football, you can't predict anything," "I need to speak to Darren Ferguson and see what he wants." The striker insists there has been no official approach from Scunthorpe to take him back to Glanford Park- despite manager Ian Baraclough suggesting he would be interested in the player if he was available. "He [boss Ian Baraclough] hasn't said anything in those terms [about coming back].
