Hayes scored the only goal against former club Barnsley to set up a fourth-round tie with Premier League giants Manchester City and the 26-year-old believes the competition is a welcome distraction from the league campaign.[LNB]"It's a great feeling to get through," Hayes told the club's official website. "We were all disappointed to lose our last two league games but I felt we did well on Saturday and deserved to go through.[LNB]"Any win is massive because if you keep losing week in, week out, your confidence will go and your morale dips.[LNB]"It doesn't feel good as a player to lose but any win is great and hopefully we can go on a little run now."[LNB][LNB]
