Paul Dickov, the Oldham Athletic boss, was relieved to get through the Janaury transfer window without losing any key players such as the Scunthorpe target Chris Taylor. The Iron had a bid - reported to be £250,000 - turned down last week for Taylor, 24, as a potential replacement  for Martyn Woolford, Woolford did leave on deadline day, completing a switch to Bristol City, but the Latics rebuffed further enquiries from Scunthorpe for their player. "I've been able to bring in a number of players, but the club has also fended off bids for our own players," said Dickov. "I'm delighted with the squad and when I look at the team and players on the bench there's plenty of competition for places and we're also in a good position to push on in the league." Reuben Reid, Andy Todd, Cedric Evina, Aidy White and Medi Abalimba have all moed to Boundary Park. "I'd like to thank the chairman and board for the support they have given me, not only bringing in players, but also keeping the ones we have, which is even more important," added Dickov.
