Michael Collins played 75 minutes in Scunthorpe's reserve team on Tuesday.

The midfielder is closing on a return to the first-team after a year out with tendonitis.

Last week he played 45 minutes of a loss to York City, and increased that in the 4-2 defeat at the hands of Burnley.

Paul Reid was left out of the squad with what manager Alan Knill described as a calf problem, he also missed last week's game at Burnley with a reported groin injury.

The club captain has not played this season after breaking four bones in a hand during the club's summer training camp in the Republic of Ireland.

He could be put into the starting line-up for the first-team on Saturday, with David Mirfin suspended for the trip to Swindon.

Callum Kennedy, Andy Barcham, James Severn, Jordan Keegan, Mark Hughes, Callum Howe and Connor Jennings all featured in Tuesday's behind-closed-doors game at Glanford Park.
