Bluebirds trip for new boys Iron
The Iron will be the first competitive opponents to visit Cardiff's new stadium on August 8, before back-to-back home games against Derby on August 15 and Middlesbrough on August 18.
Adkins, who guided his side to promotion through the play-offs last season, will be looking forward to the home game with Newcastle on October 20 and the return fixture at St James' Park on March 17.
The Iron will face local rivals Doncaster at Glanford Park on September 26 and travel to the Keepmoat Stadium on April 24.
The festive period is made up of a trip to Middlesbrough on Boxing Day before a home game with relegated West Brom on December 28.
Adkins, whose side were relegated from the Championship two seasons ago, will be hoping their status has already been secured by the time Nottingham Forest visit on May 2 for the final game of the season.
