Former Iron boss Ian Baraclough has indicated that he would be interested in the top job at Meadow Lane.

Baraclough, who was replaced by Alan Knill at Glanford Park, has since tasted success in Ireland with Sligo.

The former Scunthorpe fans favourite led them to their first Irish Premier League title in 35 years last season and into the Champions League and is currently locked in discussions over a new contract.

However, he made over 250 appearances for Notts County before joining the Iron and managing the Leauge One strugglers is something that interests him.

"I spent a big part of my career at Notts so I have a lot of fondness for the club," Baraclough told the Nottingham Post.

"I am a manager who wants to work at the highest level possible.

"When a job like the one at Notts County becomes available you would have to be interested."
