Baraclough: We lack cutting edge

Scunthorpe boss Ian Baraclough is still looking to bring in at least one striker during the transfer window. Baraclough, whose side have the joint-worst attack in the Championship and have only scored nine goals at home so far this season, has been hunting for forward talent throughout January. However, he has so far been foiled in his search, with the pursuit of Kilmarnock striker Conor Sammon coming to an end last week when he rejected a move to Glanford Park. Baraclough told the club's official website: "We just need that little cutting edge, a bit of quality. We need a fresher man up front to create a bit of competition. "I can't put a number on the amount of faces up top I want to bring in. If the chairman (Steve Wharton) allows me to bring in a couple, I'll bring in a couple. We put in a substantial record fee in for Conor Sammon and so the chairman's supporting me and backing me with the cash." Meanwhile, on possible outgoings, Baraclough added: "There have been bids for some of our players and we've turned them down, I don't want anyone leaving this club. But if there is a substantial bid for one of our players, we may have to think about it."
