Adkins upbeat despite Iron defeat

Martyn Woolford put the hosts ahead with a fantastic effort and moments later the Iron were forced to haul off top goalscorer Gary Hooper who was feeling unwell. The visitors were back on level terms when Tom Clarke slotted home but the winning goal came when Gary Roberts slid the ball in home in the 54th minute to dent Scunthorpe's play-off hopes. "The complexion of the game changed when we lost Hooper," he said. "Gary reported feeling unwell during the pre-match warm-up and had to see the doctor. "I have to confess that the performance we gave was not good enough. "But we are still in a good position to claim a place in the end-of-season play-offs."
