Adkins angered by fatigued Iron
The Iron went down to a 1-0 home defeat - their second in a row - against the MK Dons on Saturday, leaving them two points shy of the top six in League One, albeit with two games in hand on their rivals.
But Adkins is keen for his side to regain their spark as they go into the business end of the season.
"We were poor," he admitted. "I had a little go at the players at half-time because I thought they looked tired.
"There was no energy or zip or spark about us. Obviously that is something very concerning at this stage of the season.
"We are a very fit side, we know that, but we have to find the answer as to why we played like this."
