Free tickets are still available for Saturday's premiere of a documentary on Alex Calvo-Garcia and question and answer session with the player. The evening concludes the launch process of the Iron Trust, which aims to give supporters representation through a collective shareholding and improve communication with the football club's management. Spanish filmmaker Gaby Ruiz made the half-hour documentary for Canal+, and the Trust has a copy that has had English subtitles added. Calvo-Garcia spent eight years as an Iron player, making 280 appearances and scoring 45 goals - the most famous of which was the winning strike in the 1999 Division Three play-off final win over Leyton Orient at Wembley. "I do believe that my biggest achievement in football is my relationship with the club and the supporters, something that goes beyond the game itself and will last forever," said Calvo-Garcia, who will answer questions from attendees and pose with the 1999 trophy. "Supporters maybe appreciated that I tried to repay them each time I wore the Scunny shirt. Professionally and personally I enjoyed a very fruitful time in North Lincolnshire." Tickets are free to the 100+ members of the Iron Trust, and are available now from the ticket office at Glanford Park. Trust interim board members will also be selling tickets outside the stadium before Saturday's game against Colchester.
Non-members can purchase tickets for £15, or join the Trust – £10 adults, £20 family (2x adults + unlimited U16s) and £3 U16s – and get a free ticket at the same time. Interested members can also join the Trust online at www.theirontrust.com.
The evening starts in the Sir Ian Botham Executive Lounge at Glanford Park at 7.30pm on Saturday. The bar will be open, and fans can sign up for the Trust or pay for a ticket upon arrival.
