Two weeks to get clearnace to play was disappointing for Philipp Zufle

East Stirling have had Philipp Zufle sitting on the sidelines for two weeks unable to play. The German midfielder, who used to play for SC Freiburg,  joined the Shire squad while international clearance was sought to allow him to turn out for the team. The German FA finally sent approval on Friday to allow Zufle to combine playing in the Third Division whilst working as a language teaching assistant at Dollar Academy. The final nudge required came from the player who called his former lower league club Chairman to push things along Shire head coach John Coughlin said: "We are glad that clearance is in but it seems a bit harsh that it took two weeks and I have to say that the problem was not with the SFA as they have been supportive throughout."
