Zemmama Needed For Hibs Push To Third

John Hughes wants his players to expect to win evey week and needs his best players to be up for it every week. Hibs manager John Hughes is hoping his playmaker Merouane Zemmama will be able to make it for tomorrow's game against Dundee United. The Moroccan had to limp out of Saturday's 3-1 win at Falkirk with barely 15 minutes gone and went for a scan on his knee on Monday.  Hughes is now keeping his fingers crossed that Zemmama will be able to play his part in a game which will have a major bearing on the race for third place. Speaking on Monday, Hughes said: "He was away for a scan today and fingers crossed it's not too serious. He has only started and finished five 90 minutes for us and played 15 or 16 times for Hibs this year.  He has had a lot of injury problems. I told him, from now until the end of the season, to get himself going and give us a bit of magic and score goals.  I could see the sparkle in his eye and I felt really sorry for him when this happened.  Hopefully it's not too serious and it's just a knock to the knee and with a bit of lady luck he will be okay for Wednesday. If not Wednesday, then hopefully Saturday." United's visit is Hibs' first home game since losing out to Hearts and crashing out of the Scottish Cup to Ross County. Hughes fully expects his players to be under pressure from the Easter Road crowd despite a return to winning ways against the Bairns on Saturday. He said: "Definitely, but it has to be like that. You can see in one or two players a loss of confidence and their self-belief has dipped a little. But their effort and commitment has never been in doubt. I was fortunate to play for Celtic, where the demands are win, win, win every week. You have to win everything you do. It's something I picked up and I want to set that culture at Hibs. I've had a good response but it takes time and I just hope they get their rewards. Winning on Wednesday will go a long way towards that."
