The Leonardo da Vinci project is working well for Queen's Park

Queen’s Park youngsters thought they would be able to enjoy some sunshine when over in Turkey for their Euro funded two-week training camp. However, it was not to be as their first game was played in Scottish conditions. The Spiders won 5-2  over the under-19 side of Germany' Lubek. The game and training camp have been arranged under the auspices of the EC funded Leonardo da Vinci project. This is the third time that Queen's Park have been invited to send a squad under the project. Queen’s Park head of youth David McCallum said: "We may have been in Turkey but the weather was pretty Scottish, in fact it was atrocious conditions. It rained really heavily and there was a gale force wind blowing but we equipped ourselves well. We will need to step things up as we have been told that we are to face the Russian under-19 side in our second week."
