Why Not Start At The Second Top?

Scott Brown would like Neill Lennon to carry on as manager of Celtic Celtic captain Scott Brown says he does not see why managerial inexperience should be a barrier to Neil Lennon being appointed manager of the Parkhead side. The Irishman completed his short-term deal as interim boss on Sunday with a 2-1 final-day win over Hearts at Tynecastle which extended his league winning run to eight games. After the game chairman John Reid issued a statement stating that would "now turn to the formal process of considering the appointment of a new manager," with Lennon insisting he would "appreciate the process". Hoops skipper Brown believes Lennon and his assistant Johan Mjallby has done enough to be given the chance despite having no previous first-team management experience. He said: "Why not start at Celtic? He already has started and we have now won eight league games in a row since Lenny came in. We have a great team spirit. The lads enjoy his training, they enjoy him around the dressing room and enjoy the pressure he puts us under to perform for the fans. You know there is a line you can't cross, you can have a bit of banter but when you start training, it's serious. I hope the board listen to us but at the end of the day it's their decision and we have to go along with that decision. The decision will be made eventually and whatever happens, happens. But we would love Lenny to stay, he's done a great job along with Johan Mjallby." Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is ScottishFitba Net
