Weiss Move

Slovakian Vladimir Weiss knows Rangers need to keep on their toes to stay ahead despite the injuries Vladimir Weiss wants to cement his place in the Rangers side that leads the SPL.  Rangers are three points clear of Celtic but have a difficult game ahead on Sunday against Scottish Cup holders Dundee United at Tannadice. Kyle Lafferty joined manager Walter Smith's long injury list on Wednesday when he broke a bone in his hand before the Champions League game against Manchester United. Madjid Bougherra, Maurice Edu, Nikica Jelavic, Sasa Papac and Andy Webster also missed the midweek game at Ibrox but Weiss was encouraged by teenager Kyle Hutton's introduction to European football in the 1-0 reverse to United. Weiss said: "He (Lafferty) was a bit unlucky but we've got a lot of young players who can play at this level and Kyle Hutton was brilliant against Manchester United. There are going to be a few more lads who will get the chance and hopefully they can help the team and do as well as he did. It's a hard game in front of us. We are three points clear and we want to stay three points clear after Sunday but it will be a dangerous game." Limited resources mean the on-loan Manchester City winger has the chance to show he can fit into any part of Smith's plans. The Slovakian said: "I was injured for a few weeks but every time I'm fit, and any time the manager picks me, I'm ready to step in and do my best."
