WBA In For United's Allan

Despite so little game time in the top flight, Scott Allan is a wanted man

West Bromwich Albion are said to be keen to agree a deal for Dundee United's  Scott Allan. The Scotland Under-21 international is out of contract at the end of the season and, should he head to an English club then, the club would only be due minimal compensation. He is out of favour at Tannadice at the moment as he has decided not to agree a new contract with United. Manchester United, Newcastle and Old Firm giants Celtic and Rangers are all keen on the talented midfielder, who only made his SPL debut this term.  It is now believed West Brom have entered the bidding and have tried to conclude a quick deal. It is understood that they lodged a bid with Dundee United last week, which this was rejected, although their interest remains. Allan could not move to West Brom until January, but the Baggies are aware of the interest and want to try and snatch his signature now. United remain hopeful that they can persuade him to stay put and continue his education on Tayside, but that looks to be an increasingly tough task.
