Unlucky Thirteen

Hamilton are taking precautions so they are not the victims of more forgeries like they were on 13 February. Hamilton have been hit in the pocket when they discovered "an unusually high number" of forgeries in their takings from this month's Lanarkshire derby with Motherwell. This has forced the club to increase security at the New Douglas Park turnstiles in future in a bid to prevent a re-occurrence of the events on 13 February. The club released a statement saying: "Following our last home game v Motherwell, on February 13, an unusually high number of forged banknotes, of various denominations, were found to have been presented at the turnstiles. These were subsequently charged back to the club by the bank. Accordingly, with immediate effect and at all turnstiles, home and away, additional checks and note scanners will be in operation. Fans should therefore allow additional time at the turnstiles as a result of these checks. Anyone found attempting to defraud the club will be immediately dealt with by police and stewards on duty at the turnstiles. The club wish to apologise in advance to the vast majority of fans who may be delayed in gaining entry to the stadium as a result of the actions of a small minority."
