Under 21 Squad Announced

Perhaps Scotland can make the finals this time around Under 21 national coach Billy Stark has announced his squad for the side's first group game hoping to qualify for the 2015 finals in Czech Republic. Scotland host Luxembourg at St Mirren Park on Monday, 25th March, kick-off 7.30pm.Stark said of his squad: "Ryan (Fraser) started the season very well with Aberdeen and has been involved in the last half-dozen games at his new club Bournemouth.  He is in the penetrating winger mould and his club manager has been really happy with him. He gives us that dynamic, positive play that we want to see and, although he might be slightly younger than the majority of the squad, he has shown that he is mature enough physically to handle first-team football. Feruz is an explosive player and really comes alive in the final third. He performed well for us against Portugal at the end of last year and I feel he has something to offer the squad."In the 2013 qualifying campaign, Scotland beat Luxembourg twice; winning 5-1 away from home and earning a 3-0 win in the return game. However, Stark expects a difficult game when they sides meet later this month. He said: "There’s very little margin for error if we want to qualify from this group. A good start would give us a big boost ahead of the matches later in the year but Luxembourg will be a tough nut to crack. We go into this match with a fairly new group of players but Luxembourg have seven player in their squad that started the match in September last year. They train together three times a week and that tells you they will be organised. It will be a tough game for us but we have to pose a threat, create chances and score goals."
