If you are good enough you are old enough could ahve been said of Alan Urquhart Queen's Park appear to have found someone who can handle the big time. Midfielder Alan Urquhart was thrown in at the deep end for his debut on Thursday night and the Scotland Schoolboys international proved that he could take care of himself and contribute to the Spiders' cause. Urquhart was put on as a substitute at half-time in the friendly against Queen of the South, after David Anderson picked up a knock, and played his part in a competitively fought 2-2 encounter. Head coach Gardner Speirs said: "Alan is part of a small group of our under-19 squad that have joined the first team pool for our training camp at Largs. He was a substitute for the Queen of the South game and was due to get a taste of the action towards the end but we had to put him on a lot sooner. To replace our Player of the Year from last season against a very experienced side at short notice and put on the performance he did says a lot about Alan. I am sure he will be challenging for a place in my first team squad in the season ahead."
