Tug Of War Over Imrie

Dundee United are unwilling to up their bid for Dougrie Imrie.

Dundee United manager Peter Houston is not minded to increase his offer to Hamilton for the services of Dougie Imrie. There is also interest in Imrie from Milton Keynes Dons , although United are not willing to match the English sides offer. Houston has confirmed his move for the ex-Clyde and Inverness man, but he also insists he has other targets in mind. The Tannadice manager remains intent on bolstering his attacking options and has now placed the ball in Hamilton and Imrie's court.

Houston said: "We made an offer for Dougie last week and that's as far as it goes. If someone else has bid more then they will get him because we won't be increasing our offer. We have other targets in case it does not materialise. I think Dougie would be keen to come here but it will be a decision for Hamilton and him. If we don't get him we will look elsewhere because we need a striker."
