Even at this late stage in preparations for the new season, players are still on trial

Ross County are preparing for the new season at a training base near Enschede in Holland and are due to play Dutch second tier side Den Bosch tonight. While there they have taken Grasshopper Club Zurich striker Orhan Mustafi on trial to get a good look at him with a view to a potential loan move. Mustafi, who was born in Macedonia but has five caps for Switzerland U21 side, made only four league appearances last season, all as a substitute.County manager Derek Adams said: "We want to take a right good look at Mustafi during the training camp and he is with us for the week. He has another year on his contract at Grasshoppers, so we would probably have to take him on loan. The forward area is probably the only one we would need to strengthen."Adams also confirmed that he is interested in signing Dundee United defender Brian McLean, and are trying to see if a deal can be struck for the player who has one year left on his contract.
