Travel Smavel

Inverness have to travel a long way most weeks for a game so are not interested in anybody moaning about heading north.

Terry Butcher is looking for his Inverness players to produce another "superhuman" performance when they take on Celtic on Saturday at home. Last weekend, Caley Thistle came back from the dead with ten men to maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they came from two goals down to claim a point at Tynecastle. Captain Richie Foran sent off was sent off with the score at 2-1 to Hearts. Butcher said: "I called the team 'The Incredibles' that day. They weren't quite wearing masks, but the performance was superhuman. A lot of the boys haven't played Celtic before, they have only seen them on the TV. We have been telling them what to expect with the pace of the game, how Celtic play, the atmosphere and the TV cameras. It's going to be brilliant." Butcher is not bothered that Celtic are to take on a second trip to the Highlands in eight days. Celtic have also been travelled to the United States, to play Real Madrid, Sweden (to play Helsingborg in the Champions League), either side of their draw against Ross County. Butcher knows what it is all about for a club like Celtic taking on the travel involved. He wants his players to make sure they make their guests work. Butcher said: "Someone said in the paper last week it was a weary journey up the A9, but they fly over the A9. It's a 45-minute journey compared to the three-and-a-half hour trip we make every other week. They are experienced internationals and have been here before, they were in the same hotel in Inverness last weekend. They know what it's all about and Neil Lennon in particular knows what we are all about and what to expect. That's what I demand from our players, to give Celtic the hardest game they have had from the three matches this week."
