Partick Thistle were worried they would have to cope without midfielder Sean Welsh for a few months after he picked up an ankle injury a fortnight ago. However, things are not as bleak as first envisaged with manager Jackie McNamara only having to juggle things for weeks rather than months. McNamara said: "When Sean was injured we thought he had broken his ankle which would have meant several months out. We were braced for that but there is not a break so he will only be out for a number of weeks. We do not have a definitive timescale for his return yet, it could be within a month, so the way I am looking at it is that it could have been a lot worse than it has proven to be."
