There Must be A Win In Hibs. There Must Be!
Sean O'Hanlon was disappointed to fail to deliver the promised three points yesterday for Hibs fans Hibs' Sean O'Hanlon is confident there is more to come from the Easter Road side after the dour goalless draw on Sunday against Aberdeen failed to get them off the bottom of the SPL. Hibs may have had the better of the first half but they lacked imagination in the final third and Garry O'Connor failed to make the most of two decent chances. Richard Foster twice came close for the Dons, who finished the stronger team, although Martin Scott missed a good chance for the hosts. Hibs manager Colin Calderwood continues to stress his side will improve when his recent signings and previously injured players discover their fitness. And O'Hanlon, who missed several weeks with injury himself, agrees. He said: "The last 10-15 (minutes), I really felt it. I'm glad to get through that and I'll be stronger for the next game. Junior (Agogo) is a strong boy and when he gets his fitness he will cause some problems in the latter stages. Isaiah (Osbourne) is a strong runner and he got 90 minutes so I think there is definitely more to come. At the end of the season if we're still at the bottom then we're the worst team, but there are more than 30 games to go. The lads are disappointed but we'll take the positives, it's a clean sheet and a point and something to build on." Being at the bottom of the league and with a protest said to have been arranged by the fans does suggest that things are not well at Easter Road. However, the defender did not think tension got to his team. He said: "I wouldn't say it was pressure because we're only a few games into the season. We desperately wanted to win and we maybe tried too much at times, you can make the wrong decisions." Aberdeen remain second bottom after failing to score in a sixth SPL game out of seven this season. Manager Craig Brown said: "I am concerned about the lack of goals, I have to be. We have tried various permutations. Scott Vernon scored 16 goals last season and we have targeted him 20 this year. Only maybe one of the chances fell to Scott, he was actually creating them. He put a great ball across the face of goal, we were looking for Josh (Magennis) to get on the end of it."
