Cleveland Taylor wants to get back to developing his career and sees St Johnstone as the right place to be Perth boss Derek McInnes signed Cleveland Taylor on a one-year deal having been released by Brentford and the winger is looking to get his career back on track. Taylor opted to make the journey north after speaking to Scott Dobie, former team-mate at Carlisle, who has also signed for the McDiarmid Park club.Taylor said: "It's great to get the deal done and out of the way and I can concentrate on getting my career back on track. I was made aware of the manager's interest a couple of weeks ago and I spoke to Scott Dobie who is one of my best friends and he has played a big part in persuading me to join St Johnstone. Scott had apparently spoken highly of me to Derek McInnes but wasn't sure if I would be willing to come up to Scotland. But I look around and see players such as Jody Morris and Michael Duberry, both guys from down south, already here. Not only that but I know that both have committed themselves to longer periods with the club than they had initially agreed to, so that speaks volumes for what they think of the club and that has played a big part in my thought process. Playing in the SPL isn't something I envisaged I would have the chance to do when I finished last season on loan at Burton Albion but it is a great challenge and gives me the chance to get my career back on track."
