The Sone Also Rises

Sone Aluko does not like to be singled out for negative comments Aberdeen striker Sone Aluko has hit out at Mark McGhee for constantly being singled out when the team fail to perform. Aluko is one of McGhee's key players, but he has come under fire from the under-pressure Dons boss of late. The Nigerian was substituted in Aberdeen's 9-0 game with Celtic with McGhee claiming he had not done enough in the game. Aluko knows what is expected of him, but he is growing frustrated that it is only his name that appears in the manager's comments for all the wrong reasons. Aluko said: "I'm always expected to score and create goals.  I'm getting used to what the manager says about me every Sunday. If the team isn't winning or creating I'm always the one people say hasn't performed well enough." However, McGhee has attempted to defuse the row between the pair by saluting his efforts in playing despite not being fully fit. The Dons manager said: "Sone deserves praise for his commitment. He still went out and gave what he could even though he knew there was a chance he might get criticised."
