The books have to be balanced so new faces mean saying cheerio to some familiar ones. Derek McInnes knows the reality of football and that if he wants to freshen up his St Johnstone squad this month, he will have to let some current members go. The Saints boss has brought the likes of Jody Morris and Michael Duberry to McDiarmid Park and is eager to keen to augment the squad to allow them to progress in the second half of the season. McInnes said: "I would like to freshen things up and I have targets in mind, but that will only happen if I can free up some space in the squad. The chairman (Geoff Brown) has run this club so well for many years and when he says we have to cut the numbers then you respect that decision and act on it.
