Cyrstal Palace have dropped out of the race for Craig Forsyth's autograph Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has admitted he look likely to miss out on Dundee midfielder Craig Forsyth. Palace had made an offer but Dundee stalled on the deal and now Freedman admits it is 'dead in the water'. The youngster enjoyed a good season at Dens Park, scoring eight times as the club finished in mid-table. The Palace manager was keen to offer Forsyth, who was linked with a move to League Two new boys Crawley Town last season, a chance with the Championship club. Freedman said: "We made an offer to the club and to the player and we left it with them. Nothing's come back from them yet, so it looks like that one is dead in the water. It's a shame, he's someone I wanted to bring in, but with finances as they are it's difficult, I think we're going to have to get one or two players out before we get any in." Freedman also revealed the club were unlikely to continue their interest in  Craig Conway, who is a free agent after leaving Dundee United. A whole host of clubs including Leicester, Leeds and Watford are understood to be chasing for the winger's signature.
