Nobody wants to be injured and especially not someone who was hoping to make the break through to the first team The news that youngster Nicky Devlin will miss the majority of the season with a cruciate ligament injury is a big blow to Motherwell boss Stuart McCall, who was ready to give him a chance in the first team. The young full-back hoped to push for a first-team place this season following his summer move from Dumbarton, but suffered a serious injury in training this week.  Devlin said: "I thought, at first, that it was a nothing injury, that I would be back quite quickly. However, I got the news that I am likely to be out for the majority of the season - certainly six months at the very least."
