Thanks For The Memories

I don't think there will be any embarrassing scenes with his ex-chairman if Mixu ever returns to Rugby Park. Mixu Paatelainen got the offer he could not refuse when the Finnish FA called his number. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place in making his decision to leave the club he had turned around.  He used the official web-site to offer his thanks to everyone associated with Kilmarnock for their support during a short but successful spell at Rugby Park. Kilmarnock clinched a top-six place in the SPL on Saturday, two days after Paatelainen was officially named Finland manager. The achievement marked a huge turnaround in fortunes after the Finn took over last summer following Killie's last-day escape from relegation.  Paatelainen said: "The time I had at Kilmarnock FC was truly enjoyable for me. Unfortunately, it was cut short by an opportunity I could not turn down. Hopefully everyone understands my decision to leave and fulfil one of my dreams of managing my country."
