Thanks For Beating Us

It is not often you hear a manager being thanked by the manager which just suffered a drubbing Albion Rovers manager Paul Martin gave thanks to his his opposite number at Alloa, Allan Maitland, for giving his side a  3-1 going over in a bounce game on Tuesday night at Recreation Park. Rovers needed the cobwebs blown away and Alloa were determined to take game seriously when it could have been so easy to treat it like a training session. Martin said: “Allan fielded a strong Alloa team that were well up for the game and gave us a real workout which was just what we needed after only one match this month. It was goalless at half time but the game slipped away from us in the second half as Alloa were a bit sharper and we made a few changes. It was fantastic of Alloa to give us a game rather than holding a training session and I have to thank Allan Maitland and his assistant James Ward for doing so.” Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
