Being recognised at national level suggests that Jordan Rhodes is playing good football with his club

Huddersfield manager Lee Clark was nearly as pleased as Jordan Rhodes when he heard about his player's call-up to the senior Scotland squad. He described Rhodes selection as a "landmark achievement for the club". The striker has been included in Craig Levein's squad for the friendly with Cyprus on 11 November after catching the eye by scoring 14 goals in his last seven games for his club and the Scotland Under-21s. Clark, who urged Levein to pick Rhodes, believes it shows how well his Huddersfield side are playing. Clark said: "We are all delighted for Jordan - his senior call-up is well deserved following his unbelievable run of scoring form for the Under-21s and at club level. You couldn't wish for this success to happen to a nicer lad too and his teammates are all delighted for him, like everyone else at the club. Jordan is still developing as a football, but the key is his willingness to learn and take everything on board. This is also a landmark achievement for the club. I believe the fact that our players are gaining international recognition is a good indication of the progress we are making."
