Strike While The Player Is Hot

Annan Atletic wasted no time in getting their man Michael McGowan was still cooling down after his post game shower when he was offered a contract with Annan Athletic. He had just convinced Annan manager Harry Cairney of his worth while appearing as as a trialist during a 3-1 win over Stenhousemuir at Ochilview on Saturday and was signed in the boot room immediately after the game. The full-back, who started the last 99 games for his previous club Albion Rovers, helped set up the Galabank side’s first goal and the paperwork on a one year deal was dry before he was following his shower. Black and Golds manager Cairney said: "I am delighted to get Michael on board and pleased that we have him signed and sealed. What I saw during the game firmed up what I was thinking already in that he is a good player."
