You can't sit still if you want to build a squad for the new season

Morton manager Allan Moore has signed Stephen Stirling from Third Division Stranraer as he continues his squad building efforts. Moore has already signed up full back Willie Dyer from Raith Rovers, Hamilton Accies experienced defender Mark McLaughlin and St Mirren youngster Jason Naismith on a six month loan deal for next season. Naismith who turns 18 next month has featured in the Paisley first team on two occasions and has just come back from Scotland Under 20 duty playing in the ADO Den Hagg Tournament Midfielder Stirling started his career at Rangers and moved to Stirling Albion on loan when they were in the First Division. He was released by the Ibrox side a year ago. Stirling dropped down to the Third Division to play regularly and he scored 12 times for the Blues and his form has earned him another opportunity at full time football with Moore saying: "Stephen was a player I looked at last season but it is fair to say that he has really blossomed at Stranraer."
