There is no sign of weaking from the fans of Stirling Albion as they striev to own their club. The Stirling Albion Supporters Trust (The Trust) has made a renewed bid to buy the majority shareholding  in Stirling Albion Football Club held by Chairman Peter McKenzie and consequently to take the club over. The new offer has been made after The Trust’s members voted at its recent AGM (23rd May) to extend its ‘Buy Stirling Albion’ campaign and for the supporters to work, if necessary, with other interested parties. The ‘Buy Stirling Albion’ campaign spokesperson Paul Goodwin said: "It has always been our firm belief that Stirling Albion must remain in the hands of Stirling Albion supporters and that the club must play a greater part in the wider Stirling community.  The club has been owned by Stirling Albion fan Peter McKenzie for many years and we want that to be the case in the future too.  The new offer is based on a combination of factors including the club’s asset values, the recognition of the vital financial support made by the current Chairman and importantly The Trust’s plans to make the Club a more central part of Stirling’s community. It is important that the hard work in making this club a success is continued by Stirling Albion fans, and the people of Stirling, to ensure its rightful place at the centre of the community and regularly challenging teams like Partick Thistle, Dundee and Falkirk." In the last year the 'Buy Stirling Albion' campaign has demonstrated creative and innovative ways of generating widespread interest in the club as well as generating significant income.  With ownership of the club a number of other income streams to bring new revenues into the club would be activated.Highlights of ‘Buy Stirling Albion’ campaign have included:  2,000 new members of The Trust each paying £40 Wide range of celebrity supporters including Cristiano Ronaldo and Andy Murray £100,000 raised in less than a year Local business commitments to support community football club concept International interest in the football club and in the city from as far away as China, Australia and the USA Created a high profile ‘High Street’ retail presence Created a ‘community hub’ website for fans Re-launched ‘Spot the Ball’ using digital technology Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba.net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
