Stirling Albion Beat Premium Club To Signing

Sylvano Comvalius has joined the Stirling revolution. Stirling Albion has signed former Ajax youth star Sylvano Comvalius following a successful trial period at the Scottish 1st division club. Comvalius, a 6ft 3in centre forward, turned down an offer from Russian Premier League side Spartak Nalchik to join Stirling Albion and has most recently been playing for Birkarkara FC in Malta where he scored 18 goals in 21 games last season. He made his UEFA Europa League debut in 2009 for Birkirkara against Croatian side Slaven Koprivnica. Comvalius had an offer to sign for Spartak Nalchik who are currently 4th in the Russian Premier League but opted to join the Scottish First Division club.  He said: "The UK is where you want to test yourself and this is an excellent opportunity to prove myself in a higher league and to improve my game. I was attracted to the new club structure and a found everyone I met at the club very motivated for the challenges ahead."Club Manager, John O’Neill, said: "Sylvano will be a great addition to our squad and I am sure will offer us some different options up front.  I am really looking forward to getting him into the team". Subject to International clearance, Comvalius will be in the Albion squad for Saturday’s match against Raith Rovers.
